Here is Scott's t-shirt quilt top.
It's now big enough for him to cuddle under.... so I'm calling it finished.
It's been quite a puzzle to get it put together the way I wanted.
This was not the way I originally thought I was going to do it....but after gathering all the pieces (and a whole lot of thinking) I decided to set the shirts together this way. Of course I had to choose the harder!! :)

As I was sewing...each piece brought back so many memories of all the basketball, football, baseball and track meets that we all attended together over the years. Great memories!!
I'm pleased with it now.

Off to get it put on the frame to quilt.

So here is the backing for Trent's quilt.
Sorry I forgot to post it with the quilt. :)
I think he'll get a kick out of it don't you?

And while I'm at it.... here is the lastest basket I have finished. Countdown now..... only 2 more to go.

Good morning. Hope you're having a good day.
Here you go Deb.... a pic of Trent's finished quilt.
As usual I had a bit of a time trying to snap the pic between wind gusts. This is the best that I could do.

I used several different patterns on my machine to applique' the alphabet so I thought you might like to see a couple up close.

This also shows the panto I used to quilt it.
A very simple one and I like the way it turned out.

I'll be bringing it with us when we come in Oct.

Time for another Pizza Box block finish to show you. (HA Try saying that 3 times!)
This one was quite easy and her choice of fabrics were really nice. I love the pumpkins. The pattern is from Calico Printworks called Nine-Patch Parade. Each square is 8". The pattern calls for just setting each block separately.... but Vicki chose to have us put together a 9-patch as she instructed. So this is a BIG block! She'll have a cute quilt when finished.

I'm almost finished quilting Trent's quilt. I'm using an easy easy panto and I should have been done by now. But ..... as usual I'm procrastinating. But this afternoon I'm getting back in there and will get the binding on today.

Good morning all. Today is looking to be a rather sunshiny slightly breezy rather warmish day.
(that's just a nice way to say HOT!!)
In fact my Firefox weather bar shows the next couple of days are forecast to be in the 100s again. Sheesh!!
So it's a good thing I've gotten back to my embroidery so I can sit here in my nice AC.

I finished another Blackwork basket last night while watching the best Big Brother episode yet this year.
Ronnie is gone!!
Our boy Jeff rocks!!
And Chima is in for a BIG surprise!!
Aren't we happy campers today? hahaha

Oh sorry. I got a bit sidetracked there for a minute. Back to the embroidery. I started these way back late 2007 and put them away last April. Well.... the other day I decided to finish the block I had started way back then and here it is.
Just 3 more to go then I can start deciding how to set them.

I've gotten Trent's quilt on the frame so I'll start quilting it today. It usually takes me several days (or weeks) to finish the quilting because I just don't stick with it for hours on end. The back screams to much. Even though this quilt isn't that big I think it will still take awhile.

Have a great day all.

I added the borders to Trent's quilt today.
And I used my new gadget for mitering corners for the borders. It's called Quick Easy Border Mitering Tool
It really made it so easy.
I know Trent won't mind at all...but I wish I would have had more fabric so I could have matched up the stripes better. But I had to make do and (in real life) it doesn't look that bad.
I plan to get the top on the frame tomorrow.

Quite a wake up call we had this morning. I heard it start to rain when I first woke up.... and it just kept getting harder and harder.
Then the hail. Just small nuggets.... but they sure tried to sound like they were big boys.
And the rain came down heavier and heavier.
At one point I couldn't see across the street.
The wind was blowing and it was dumping big time. And it was dark!
I tried to get a couple of pics to show how hard it was raining.... but the blowing rain put drops all over my lens.
So these were taken after it had subsided quite a lot.
The storm left behind a calm, cool, sun-shining, great smelling morning to enjoy.

Nothing like a bit of excitement to start my day.

Yesterday I finished putting the sashing strips on the rest of the blocks for Trents quilt. It turned out really cute and even tho the sashing took much much longer to do than just regular sashing, I'm sure glad I decided to do it this way.
Today the border goes on and I'll be mitering the corners. I have a new gadget so I'll show you later how it works.
