I have another finished quilt.  The quilting is done and the binding is on.  The gals at The Quilt Bugs did the quilting for me by using a stipple stitch.  I love the way it seems very fitting with these fabrics.
I attached the binding by machine again and have found that the more I do this the more I like it.

I wanted to get a nicer picture of the whole quilt but it's been rainy and wet outside so I'll just show you this old pic from when I finished the top.

Glad to get ALL of the homespun off the shelves.  I love the way homespun looks but I will never work with it again.  O. M. G. the raveling it did!!

Soooo yesterday I literally spent all day and night on the computer following the storm trackers and weather radar.  We were very fortunate that nothing stronger than pea size hail came through here.  I watched wave after wave of storms roll past and the people who go out to chase them have to have nerves of steel.  I'm so thankful for them and their ability to stream live feeds to us sitting home watching.  It does bring a bit of comfort on a stormy day/night.

So today I figured I'd get back to my machine and the table runner and get it finished.  So .... all done!  This was a fun one to put together.  I may make another one day.  I can visualize it in a lot of different colorways.
But that is for another day.  Tonight I'm going to go get my Kindle and start reading The Hunger Games.

I have a Left Handed quilter friend who has just awarded me the "Liebster Blog Award".
I am so honored!  Thank you, Thank you!!  You're pretty cool yourself girl and you keep cracking me up!!

Now this isn't just any award.
This is a very special award.
Here is what others have said the award is based on:
"The origins of the Liebster Blog award are somewhat unclear
but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany,
Liebster meaning favorite or dearest,
to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers.

So .....   Here are the rules of the award:
1)  Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.  (yep, did that)
2)  Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.  (yep, did that too)
3)  Copy and paste the blog award on your blog (yep, did that right up there---AND it's going on my sidebar)
4)  Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve to be noticed.

Now for my 5 bloggers that I adore:
1:  Donna {Quilting Grandma}  is a very dear friend for these last several years who shares her travels, her family and her quilting with us.
2:  Dee  {Salmon Brook Studio}  another dear friend who is just a fantastic artist.  She just amazes me with her talent.
3:  Jacquie {Simple Reflections} is also one of a small group of quilters that I met online when I first started quilting and we've remained good and dear friends for all these years.
4:  Elaine Adair {Elaine Adair Pieces}  Even tho we've never met officially Elaine is one of those quilters who I admire so much.  I follow her with google reader and Love her quilts!
5:  Nancy {Patchwork Penguin} I've been reading Nancy's blog for quite some time now and we're both game-friend players on facebook.  So she just had to make my 5ver list.

So now I'm going to their blogs to "Award" their Liebster Blog Award to them.  And then I'm going back to check out all the other bloggers that my Left-Handed friend awarded.

I love working with strips!  Or strings! Or whatever the correct label is today.  ((Must follow the "Rules"  you know because.... as many of us have come to realize lately...... there really are Quilt Police!   Or are they just the Keystone Cops?  I get the two confused.))     LOL

Here is how far along I've gotten on my runner.  Strips are all cut and ready to just grab and sew.

Each section is then trimmed up and the next section is added and more strings sewn on side A.

This is the reverse side showing the black strips and the focus fabric of side B.
I'm lovin' it so far.  Back to play with more strips.

I'm starting to get my mojo back after these last several weeks off ....so I thought I'd show you the fabrics I'll be working with for my next project.   One of the gals in our guild has shared how to make a table runner that combines string piecing and quilting as you go.  And these are the fabrics I'm going to use for mine.  I picked them all up Quilters Delight in Holdrege.  Love that store!!!
"Reversible Table Runner" designed by Karen Montgomery and sold through The Quilt Company is a beautiful (and easy) pattern.
Believe me when I tell you these fabrics are MUCH richer than the pics show.

I actually missed the guild meeting (when a migraine hits I cancel everything) so I'm working on this on my own today.  Check back later to see how I'm getting along.
