About me

My name is Linda and I live in Phillipsburg, Kansas.
I am 74 years old, retired and married to my hubby for 55 years.
We raised 2 children and they gave us 7 Grands and 6 Greats.  {more to come}

They are what fulfills our lives.

I'm so glad you stopped by and I love reading your comments so please let me know you have stopped in as you pass on your way to having a great day.

I will respond to every comment if I can.
Occasionally there will be someone that I can't email back because that person doesn't have their settings enabled to allow me too.  And that makes me sad.  ;o(

I've been quilting since about 2004 and I have been diligently working on expanding my stash. hahaha

Of course that will be a never-ending project.

I have now completed the first goal that I set for myself when I first started piecing.
I wanted to make each member of my family their own snuggle quilt. The first of March, 2010 I finished the last one on my list.  However.... that list has now expanded to add 2 more Grands (by marriage)
I can now move on to my next goal. I want to make at least one bed quilt for each of the married couples in the family and for each of our beds here at home. ((Completed))

I love the process of seeing a pattern and finding the fabric (starting with my stash) and then using EQ7 (now EQ8) to draft that pattern so I can tweak it to suit me. I have made several Mystery quilts because I find the process fun and challenging and usually I'm pleased with the finished top.

Several years ago I purchased a New Joy Gold frame and put my Juki on it.   I was able to quit several of my own quilts. I have since had to admit that my back and knees just wouldn't cooperate any more..... so I finally decided I could send the quilts out to my longarmer and be much happier.
I took the Juki off and converted the frame to a long counter with the panto top still attached. I can use the panto top to measure my quilts when I'm adding the borders. It works so well for me now.

Some of my other Interests: Hexagons, Applique, Embroidery, Crochet,
My Janome and my computer are my greatest entertainment.
I love to read...especially now that I have my Kindle.  I download free books from Amazon and can now read two to four books a month.
I love traveling to Joplin to visit the family who live around there.  And in between visits I can enjoy them all on Facebook and by texting.
My Favorite Movie has to be Dr. Zhivago
My Favorite Music is anything by Celtic Woman. I love Zamfir and Ricky Tims.  I'm beginning to enjoy some Country.  But I'm not particularly fond of the twangy singing through the nose kind of Country.
And now my sweet Ruby girl is my constant companion.
So that's me.  Condensed.  I'm glad you stopped by and took the time to read my blog.
Have a happy great day.
