My Design Wall.....

I now have enough of Carol Doaks blocks made so I put them all up on my wall.    Yes I do think I like this layout.  Now to plan the sashing and see what I can do with them. This is going to be J & Gs Wedding quilt.

And of course since it's Monday I'm going to link over to Judy's Design Wall Monday
Let's go see what some of the others have been up to.
I hope you're having a great day. Glad you stopped by.....Linda

    1. Thanks so much Ramona. I have two grands getting married this year so I'm keeping busy with both of their quilts.

  2. Wow! These blocks look great. Are they from one of her books or from her website?

    1. Thanks. These are some of my favorite colors. And I'm glad my Great is using them. Sure makes it easy to design this quilt. lol

  4. Your blocks are gorgeous! I have one of Carol Doak's paper piecing books but I've only made one of the blocks. I kind of like the restrained color palette you're using better than the bright colors Carol uses (in her book, anyway -- not sure if that's her palette all the time). Anyway, in your fabrics, the precision and intricacy of the blocks is what pops out to me instead of a blast of color. I hope that makes sense. I'm trying to compliment you but I feel like my foot is in my mouth somehow! :-(

    1. I don't have any of her books but I do love the way she designs her blocks to NOT have seams all meet together in one place. I so totally agree with you about different colors. I'm very much a controlled scrappy quilter. I must keep the colors corralled and make them play nice.
Oh and Rebecca, you did a mighty fine job of complimenting me. LOL
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it.
      Come back again sometime.

    1. Thanks Frances. I was happy that the little bit of red that I added to the last few blocks really popped.
      Glad you stopped by.

    1. Thanks Cathy. If I could choose between paper piecing or regular sewing I'd choose paper piecing every time. I love to do it. And I so agree with you. I love traditional blocks too.
      Thanks for coming by.

  7. Your blocks look great. I completed mine and in February it became a wedding quilt for a grandson. Makes these mystery BOMs worthwhile, right?

    1. Yes it sure does Gari. I had no idea what I was going to do with my blocks until my Grand announced her engagement and I found out what her colors were going to be. So my color choices fit perfectly.
Thanks for stopping and thanks for the compliment.
