What I've been working on.....

It may not seem like much but I have been stitching each evening and I've made some advancement on my hexie project.  It's now starting to really take shape and I'm soooo enjoying these hexies.  I still haven't chosen the color for the star centers and that first border.  Maybe today.

I decided my fabrics needed to be cleaned up and organized better so I started yesterday.  I've ordered comic book backing boards to use for my fabrics to help them stand firmly on the shelf.   So far I've used 300 and still have probably another 100 different fabrics to do yet.  When I get it all done I'll show you how nice it looks.  Stay tuned.
For now I'm back to folding....... right after I link over on Needle & Thread Thursday.
And .... I'm linking to BillieBee's Hexie Friday Blog.

I hope you're having a great day. Glad you stopped by.....Linda

  1. I see three more star points - Woohoo!! - So what color are you thinking you'll use in the centers and the first border? What color haven't you used yet in your stars? - ;))

    1. I still haven't completely decided yet on the color. The only 'color' I won't be using in the stars will be black. But I know I don't want to use that for a border. Much too harsh for me. I'm still thinking. You know me.... I take my time and then some. heehee.

    1. Thanks Leanne. I think I even shocked myself while I was sorting and refolding when I found fabric that I'd forgotten about. It is wonderful to be able to pet it all and fall in love with it all over again.

    1. Thanks Kelly. You are right.... hand work does take patience that's for sure. But it's such a great way to unwind and go to a quiet place. At least it is for me.

    1. hahaha Sticking a few together is really encouraging. At least it was for me. Once I could see the design taking shape I got really excited to get more and more sewn.
      Thanks for stopping by Billie.

  6. This kind of work isn't going too fast. But it will come together beautifully, and along the way you'll have so much fun and joy. Thanks for showing us.

    1. I know. I'm having a wonderful time working on this. I used to work counted cross stitch and then embroidery and then moved on to needleturn. But now hexies have stolen my heart.
      Glad you stoped by

  7. Your project looks fabulous! And it's soooo different from mine (black sashing). I just picked 2 of my fav fabrics for the diamond centers and the "cornerstones" - I never used the fabrics in the rest of the quilt but I did use the same colors. Since your diamond centers are different, could you use a different "cornerstone" fabric that matches the rest of your color scheme?

    1. Ooo I love black in quilts but I knew I didn't want to use it in this one. I'm thinking I might in my next hexie project. And I have found the fabric I'm going to use for the 1st border and that star center or "cornerstones". I've been sewing some of them on and I'll show you all in a few days.
Thanks for stopping by Sarah. Have a great week.
