Another Monday and another quiet week around here.  I woke up this morning with a thick layer of fresh new snow that somehow made a sneaky appearance in the night.  

The last couple of days I've spent a bit of time in the sewing room and have at least made a small bit of headway on the brown quilt.  I had all those scraps left over from cutting the tumbler with the Go.... soooo trying not to add them to my bulging scrap drawer I thought... why not use them on this quilt.
I started sewing a few together and decided I kinda liked the wacky stripes.   So I kept sewing and then started adding straight 1.5" strips until I had enough to make a good start.   I'm going to keep working on these to finish the borders.  I'm also going to use that very dark brown stop border.  I really like this one!
haha  but I say that about all don't I?

Most of this last week has been spent working on trying to relearn how to knit.  I do remember the basic knit and purl but I'm having trouble figuring out how to go back, transferring stitches to correct my mistakes.  And believe me....I make a lot of mistakes and need to know how to accurately go back.  I'll keep reading and watching videos until I figure it out.
  I'm also going to get me a nice set of needles to use.  I had a circular set so I started using them and I don't think I like them to knit a scarf.  The 'cord' seems too stiff.   They might be fine for socks or something larger....but a scarf is about my limit for now so straight needles will be better for me I think.  
So for now I decided I can crochet better and quicker and easier so I'm back to what I know and a new scarf has been started.  Same bamboo yarn just a different color-way.
