Hexie blocks....

Just for fun I decided to lay all the finished blocks together in sort of the plan I'll be using.
I'm still not liking that one block.  Looks out of place to me.  I tried to find some different fabrics so I could incorporate maybe one or two wild brighter blocks .... but no luck.  At least nothing that I like.
I want this quilt to be calm and quiet and that block just kinda rock & rolls a bit too much.  lol   I'm pretty sure I'll be unsewing that one.

And....I'm a day late but since yesterday was the 17th of the month I'm heading over to Sarah's blog so I can link to her HeLP for Hexie-aholics

I hope you're having a great day.
 Glad you stopped by.....Linda

    1. Thanks Julierose. I'm new myself and in fact this is only the second project I've tackled. I made a small table runner and now I'm hooked on hexies. lol
      Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Hi Linda and Welcome to HeLP!! I'm guessing the middle bottom diamond is the one that is bugging you. I like it! Not sure how big you plan to make th quilt but I also made one of these and when it gets big enough no one diamond sticks out over the others. I think your colors *are* calming and when you get a few more done you won't notice the one I really like. LOL.

    1. Yes Sarah that's the one. Boy oh boy I am totally out-numbered about that block. LOL I guess I'll just keep sewing and see how I like it later. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. one problem child, huh? Don't dismantle it yet as you have a ways to go with this and it may fit in yet.

    1. Good advise Linda. I haven't done anything with it yet except just relegating it to the bottom of the pile. LOL

  4. I agree with the others - don't dismantle it yet! Maybe it just needs a few more "friends" to feel like it fits in! Add a bunch more with the same fabric - then decide. Besides - BOB says you blew the "calm and quiet" when you put in the orange - haha - ;))

    1. What??!! BOB doesn't like my Orange??? Oh snap! I think that's a very nice orange. It plays very well with the others. No shouting or shoving and definitely no rock & rolling. hahaha

    2. Hey - I think I wasn't entirely clear in what I said - ;)) BOB LOVES your Orange!! It IS a VERY nice Orange!! But to BOB "calm and quiet" is more "cool" tones than "warm" ones - that's all. I LOVE the Orange in this quilt - and ALL of the other colors you are using!! It's going to be AWESOME when you're done - ;))

  5. Take your time, and don't think about it just now. You can always use this extra hexie block in another project later if it doesn't work. Good for an appication on a needle book for example, or on a label on the back of your finished quilt.

    1. Thanks. That's exactly what I'm doing. It's on the bottom of the pile and I'm perfectly happy leaving it there for the time being. haha
