I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.  We shared the day with our son's family (even though the girls were not able to get home from college -- sadly) with delicious grilled hamburgers and mouthwatering salads.   A warm sun and blue sky allowed us to enjoy a relaxing afternoon outside.

Today I'm planning on working on my latest project for our Guild Auction.  A pineapple table topper.....

Blocks finish at 7" and there will be a total of 16 to complete the center.
I'll add a couple of borders to finish it off and I'll then have two out of the three projects for the Auction completed.
I love these fabric colors!!
So now I'm going to link over on Judy's Design Wall and check out what other quilters have been working on.

I hope you're having a great day. Glad you stopped by.....Linda

  1. I like your Pineapple blocks - blue and yellow is another of my favorite color combos - but 16 of those suckers?? Pineapple blocks seem to take me FOREVER - that Auction would have to be next year for me to finish in time - haha - ;))

    1. yeah they take me awhile too .... but I do love the way they turn out. And of course I love paper-piecing (as I've said a gazillion times) so the time doesn't bother me.

  3. I really like the fabrics you are using, blue and yellow do go so well together. I haven't made any pineapple blocks yet but they are on my bucket list to make someday.

    1. I so agree Ellen. These are the first pineapple blocks I've made and they will definitely not be my last. I'm so enjoying sewing these blocks and I'm finding this color combination to be so soft and mellow and calming. Yep I'm lovin' these! ;o)

  5. Very striking in these colors! I am with you on the foundation piecing part. I have two of these started---one 12 inches big with lots and lots of scrappy strips and another smaller one about 6 or 7 inches with a big center.

The larger ones were a pass around project and my mom was one of the participants and to that point had not tried pp'ing. She did four blocks and was leaving me little notes on the back of them----"it is getting easier", "4 at once", and I think the final message was "I love it and will have to make me one" I think that is part of the reason why they have not been made into a throw yet. Those messages and I have a ton of other things to do yet. LOL
