Ride: as in riding in a car to go to a Dr appt.
From Tuesday through Friday one of us had an appt to keep. So we were traveling South one day and then North the next.... then wash and repeat.
I think I'm beginning to really dislike the inside of our car!!
Sooooo to help me unwind I've spent yesterday and today basting hexies. I want to get a good supply ready so I will be able to make each 'block' different.
I've cut more greens and browns but I still need to pull blues and dark reds and perhaps a few dark purples. Looks like I'll be scrounging in my scrap drawers. Here are all the basted hexies so far.
And I did get one more block stitched together. It looks very bright and loud when it's displayed with the others .... so I may not use it in this project. I'll see.
Here they are all lined up. See what I mean? Yeah! It's bright all right!
I'm going to link to A Quilting Reader's Garden
and since I haven't shared my hand stitching lately I'll link over on Kathy's Slow Stitching Sunday.
Such pretty hexies! You could always plan a couple of the brighter ones and scatter them into your finished quilt. Hope this coming week has less Dr. appointments and more you time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb. That may work if I can find the right fabric(s). And as for less Dr. appts. There are only three this week so that will seem like a breeze after last week. haha
DeleteThanks for stopping by.
i feel your pain when it comes to frequent dr. apptmt trips. i traveled over 2 hours (one direction) last week to do the same. it sure makes me wonder why i live in the middle of NO and WHERE.
ReplyDeleteyour hexies look great and i was wondering if you used them as a travel project? mine have been all over the place~!
i agree with Deb; plan and make a few more brighter ones and scatter generously.

hahaha "why i live in the middle of NO and WHERE" Now that's funny!! We must live very close to each other then. ;-)
DeleteAs for traveling....yes, I do take my hexies with me. And if I don't have them I have my Kindle reader.
Thanks for stopping by libby.
These are wonderful hexies...maybe the bright one needs some bright friends to make him feel more comfortable?!?!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!
It looks like it's a unanimous vote to make more brights. Which means I'll have to dig a bit farther to find some that will work.
DeleteThanks for stopping by Kathy.
I love have a big stack of hexies and planning ahead. Then when get to the end of the stash of hexies ya, feel like you really accomplished something. I'm with others, that bright one needs some friends to feel right at home, it's a beauty!
ReplyDeletehaha I guess I better start looking for fabric then so I can throw in some more brights. My favorite part of the hexie process is basting them and getting them all lined up nice and pretty.
DeleteThanks for stopping by Sue.
Love your hexies! I love working with them as well, though I usually mark my seams and piece them that way.
