We had RAIN...

Lots and lots of rain. In our back yard we measured 4" and according to my Weather Bug the area had up to 8". Local (small) rivers and creeks are running full all around the area. They are dumping into Harlan and Glenn Elder.

So (as nosey as I am) we decided to go see and took a drive South of Glade. This is a pic of Bow Creek still running hard.

What I found very interesting about being on this bridge was..... the county crew that was there measuring the depth of the water .... or whatever they were measuring. I decided I really didn't want to tarry long. heehee

To those of you reading this that are not familiar with our area.... this is NOT the normal. We rarely get 2" of rain .... let alone 8". And our creeks don't run .... they trickle. And my goodness...we're forecast for more rain for the next three days.

Gosh I'm going to be sad when the Olympics end tonight. :(
I have so enjoyed them. Way to go America!!

Doesn't look like we're going to have a sunny day today. Overcast and very cool. 65 degrees right now. Just a slight breeze to move the air through the house with the doors and windows open. I love the Fall when I can open everything up and enjoy the cool down.

Have a great day everyone....
Enjoy.

Borders still needed....

I just finished putting all four panels together and just couldn't wait to show this off.
I still want to add two borders yet. One small dark stop border and then a larger one to finish the top.
My batting order came today. I'm going to try the new Green Quilters Dream poly select. It feels nice. I'm anxious to see how it quilts up.

Here I am again....

Whoa!! I knew it had been awhile....but 15 days!!!?? Criminy!!
I really have turned into a couch potato with these Olympics. Of course the week before they started .... I have no excuses for not posting.

Finished the color class I was taking at MQResourse and I enjoyed it so much. I feel I really gained some valuable information. No homework to show for the last two weeks of class tho. I will definitely not hesitate to take more online classes in the future. That was a lot of fun.
I have two panels of Evelin's quilt put together now. I would occasionally go sew a seam or two during a slow down of the events.
Oh wow it is going to be so pretty. Here's a sneak peek at just one panel. I picked up the backing fabric the other day so I'm all set to finish this one.
But (having a senior moment)....I walked out of the house without taking Gina's quilt with me so I could get the backing for it while I was at the LQS. Oh well...it's just on hold now until I can get back to Holdrege (5 weeks from now). I wish there was a LQS closer to me. :(

Don's Apple

I'm finished! I've made the adjustments the teacher suggested and now I'm really pleased with it. I will be keeping this one and I plan to quilt it later.
I'm pleased.

Here's the before.....

And now the After....

And the model that started it all ....
