So....... I really haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Really!
Just haven't felt like blogging lately. So I didn't!

It's Fall!! Yep!! Time to add a quilt to the bed at night. There's a nip in the air and the leaves have started to turn here just in the last two days. Almost makes me want to buy a pumpkin and get some hay bales. ................ But I'll get over that thought real soon. hahaha

I have been plodding along as usual (in my own sweet time) and I'm now finished with the quilting on Scott's quilt. I love that backing material.
The binding is on and I'm half finished sewing it down.
Almost done!!
I will now say (emphatically!!)..... this will be the last t-shirt quilt that I will ever make!!
I did enjoy the puzzle of setting the blocks together and designing the quilt.... but the quilting!!!! OMGosh!!!
I wonder if maybe there was something wrong with the fusible that I used. On some of the blocks it just didn't stick well and when I was quilting it ..... the shirts kept shifting and wanting to bunch up (like knit tends to do). It took me twice as long as it should have to quilt it because I kept having to hold the shirt while I tried to follow the panto. Not easy!! And nearly impossible to do. In fact there are several places that I'm not happy with. Of course I'm way to picky and "done is good".

Next quilt up...... DH's. His is the last on my list of *Must-Do for family*. I like to have the quilts be a surprise so I can give them as Christmas gifts.... but I'm pretty sure I can't get away with this one for Don. But it might be kinda fun to see how far along I get on it before he realizes I'm making his.

Here is Scott's t-shirt quilt top.
It's now big enough for him to cuddle under.... so I'm calling it finished.
It's been quite a puzzle to get it put together the way I wanted.
This was not the way I originally thought I was going to do it....but after gathering all the pieces (and a whole lot of thinking) I decided to set the shirts together this way. Of course I had to choose the harder!! :)

As I was sewing...each piece brought back so many memories of all the basketball, football, baseball and track meets that we all attended together over the years. Great memories!!
I'm pleased with it now.

Off to get it put on the frame to quilt.

Here's what I've been cutting today.
I pulled some of my really ugly fabric and decided to get it ready to make some more of the 'green' bags.
I looked at a lot of sites with all kids of patterns for bags and I settled on this one because they are really sturdy bags and the handle isn't separate. So it can't pull loose.
Plus... they do use up a lot of that fabric that I'm more than glad to get off my shelves.
Each bag takes 2 pieces of lining and 2 pieces for the outside fabric. So I have 4 bags ready to sew up.

I did enlarge the pattern like I said I wanted to do. I added about 2.5" to the length of the handles and 2.5" to the width of the bag.

This is much better.

So tomorrow I'll cut the rest of the fabric I have pulled and sew some more bags.
Sometimes it's fun to just do mindless stuff.

I still haven't sewn all my rows together for that homespun that I've started. It's still waiting patiently for me to get back to it. :)

And I do need to get started on Scott's t-shirt quilt. I'll stop at Quilters Delight when we go to the Dr on Monday and pick up some different fabric. I thought I had what I wanted but .... you just never know. I'd better check.

I've been having fun with my Macro camera setting ....
so I'll leave you with this little beauty....
