I had a pretty free day yesterday so I was able to stay in my sewing room and work on this months paper pieced block from Carol Doak's 2012 BOM Mystery

This is my favorite part of the whole quilting process.... working on the blocks.  Seeing each one come together so beautifully.  And paper piecing makes that process flawless.

Here's Junes block.  Dove In the Window.

 And this is May's block.
  Tiptoe Tulips.

I just ran across a new BOM this morning as I was blog hopping and checking emails.

Carol Doak has a new 2012 BOM Mystery starting this month and will run for 11 months.
It's a two color mystery and geared to beginners.   ((this is a pic of her fabric choices and her block))

I think I'm going to work on this one since I do like to paper piece and I kinda like a good mystery.  So this combines both.

And I've even got the just perfect fabrics in mind.   Should be fun!

I don't even remember when Bonnie's Orca Bay mystery started....but it seems like I've been at this for months and months!!
Well actually I guess I have.  LOL

Now LOOK!!!   CherryLime Mash is FINISHED!!!

At least for now.  I can hand it off to my longarm gals and they can do their thing.
Then when I get the binding attached I'll have a treasure for sure.

I've loved this mystery.  Not only for the beautiful quilt that Bonnie so generously provided but more precious to me is the friendships that have developed as we all worked diligently trying to get it 'right'.  LOL  (Some of us worked a little harder than others) and some of us did our own thing with colors and layout etc.  But when we all get ours done we can all be soooo proud to have a really gorgeous, intricate quilt that  ..... I don't ever plan to make again!!  hahaha

Now head on over to Bonnie's Quiltville link-up to see all the different quilts.

Yesterday I spent most of the day in my sewing room and finally finished Clue #5.
<<< 350 of these little buggers.
I'm all out of this dark brown so I have to get to a quilt shop before I can start on Clue #6.
Today I think I'll work on Clue #4 so I can get more of the pink strings done.  I'm not even half finished on that one and I might even run out of the pink fabrics too since that is used in Clue #6 also.
Gosh I sure didn't pay attention to fabric requirements for this mystery when I pulled my colors.
Oh well!!  It is a mystery after all.  The greatest mystery is....will I have enough fabric.  LOL

I have a finish!  Finally!  Today I completed the binding by machine and I used Sharon Schambers method with washable glue first then stitch-in-the-ditch from the front to catch the back binding in a seam.  Strong finish.
I love this design and it fits perfectly for this quilt.

I've posted about this quilt several times before so I'll just show a corner of the front.  It's a Mystery from 2006 that had been in my UFO pile all this time.   I don't know what took me so long to get it finished.  But it is now on my bed right where it belongs.

Have a nice weekend....
