Now that the 'Greats' are getting older it has become our tradition to decorate Christmas cookies.
They enjoy it soooo much and they all take their artistic expression very seriously.
After all....these are Santa's cookies!!
Santa really like them by the way.
(See Santa bites in the bottom left pic?)
However...we did have to send out an alert.
"Don't anyone eat the GREEN frosting"!!
(2nd pic - top left) LOL

And so it's over......
Almost everyone left to go back to their homes yesterday except Jess.
Today Jake & his dad made it here around noon to pick her up so she can go back to Colorado with them for a few days.
She is now gone..... my nap has been taken.... and it's way too quiet now with just the two of us.
I miss these hugs.
I'm now going to count down the rest of the year by organizing my thoughts and the house and get back to my sewing room again. I haven't done much of any quilting this month.
AND..... I have a LOT of books to start reading. For Christmas I was given two more to add to my pile of 'books to be read'.
Now that I think of it...... I think I'll go finish "Going Rogue" by Sarah Palin. so I can start on my next book.

Here we are....counting down the last few days before Christmas. Thankfully I have all gifts purchased and wrapped and under the tree. I did do just a bit of pre-baking (our favorites....pumpkin bread and chocolate covered peanuts) The other candies have gone by the wayside this year. I decided there was no use to knock myself out to have so much leftover after everyone goes back home. There's only a couple kids that like all that sweet stuff. Don & I certainly don't need to have all that candy sitting around tempting us....so I just pared down. This should be just about right.
I've spent the last week and a half re-installing programs after I had to have my hard drive replaced. Thankfully it wasn't a complete crash and my files and pics had been backed up ..... but I lost the programs that I've installed over the years. Actually it's rather nice not having all those things hanging on that I rarely used. I think I'll be a bit more selective about installing things. And I also had the computer Dr add more Ram while he was at it. So now I'm happy again.
I haven't been doing any sewing or quilting for several weeks now. Just seems like I can't get everything going in the same direction lately. I did get my yearly flu shot last week and boy oh boy did it ever throw my fibro into high gear! Two very very hard days and then I slowly felt better. I'm going to really think hard about that shot next year.
I'm hoping all the kids make it here before the storm rolls in. This morning they have upgraded to a major winter storm with blizzard conditions and 7" to 14" that's supposed to hit our area Tuesday night and not move out until Thursday night. Dang!!
Who wanted a White Christmas anyway???

It's snowing today.
Started mid-day and has continued for several hours now.
It's not heavy yet but we're supposed to have 1 to 3 inches today.
Then...... they are forecasting a real doozy coming in on Tuesday.
Looks like I'll be rescheduling my Dr. appt for the next week.
I have Don's top finished but not on the frame yet. I've felt like @#$% pretty much all week so I just haven't gotten in there to load it. Thank goodness this last one is for Don and he won't care at all if I don't have it completely finished.
It's really BIG!!! At least for me. It's the biggest quilt I've made yet and will just barely fit on my frame. I need 96 x 108 so I'll have to load it with the 96" on the take-up roller. And I'll probably have to turn it when I get close to the end. That's not too hard to do ..... I've had one of the guild donation quilts that was that big and I had to turn it.
Maybe tomorrow I'll work on getting it loaded. Maybe!!
